Ferguson Campaign for Water Access
Ferguson Campaign for Water Access
About the Campaign
In 2026, RCAP is teaming up with Ferguson employees and a growing coalition of partners and donors to bridge drinking water access gaps in schools and local facilities like libraries and museums. As part of RCAP’s national programs that improve water quality and access for small communities, our Agua4All initiative works to:
💧Assess the needs of schools’ and facilities’ drinking water infrastructure
đź’§ Install fixtures, filters, and bottle filling stations where they are needed the most
đź’§ Help facility staff develop plans to maintain the equipment and assure long-term water quality and access
đź’§ Educate students on the importance of safe drinking water, and provide reuseable water bottles to encourage healthy water consumption
Agua4All Background
RCAP’s nationwide network, with six regional partner nonprofits and nearly 400 technical assistance professionals, has worked closely with small communities and their water treatment plants for over five decades. Within their work, staff continued to see persistent drinking water challenges in the communities’ schools and local facilities, and in 2014 RCAP’s western region, RCAC, pioneered Agua4All as a solution. The program has since grown across RCAP’s other regions and across the nation to:
đź’§ Work with over 430 schools and facilities in 15 U.S. states
đź’§ Install more than 1,100 fixtures, bottle filling stations, and point-of-use filters
đź’§ Distribute nearly 32,000 reusable water bottles to students
With your support, RCAP will build on this growing effort and expand this program to ensure more students and community members who rely on these vital public spaces have safe and accessible drinking water.

The Need
Thousands of schools and local facilities across the U.S. have aging infrastructure and face poor water quality that prevents access to clean drinking water for students and community members. Water contaminants that pose serious health risks like lead, arsenic, and nitrates continue to persist in many communities RCAP serves. Other facilities have safe drinking water but simply struggle with a lack of public access points, broken or out-of-date fixtures, or water discoloration. RCAP recognizes that clean, clear, and accessible drinking water is a necessity for all people – whether at home or at school – and that it creates a foundation for healthy communities and schools. Through Agua4All, we are working to make this a reality.
