The Decentralized Wastewater Landscape in Ohio (1 Hour Webinar)

This one-hour webinar will showcase innovative alternative wastewater solutions successfully implemented across Ohio communities. Highlights include:

  • Liquid-only small diameter systems with individual or shared septic tanks, sending effluent to county-run treatment facilities.
  • Hybrid systems combining conventional and small-diameter sewers, with lagoon treatment shared by three villages.
  • A sand bioreactor treating effluent from a small-diameter sewer system in an unincorporated area.
  • A village-scale subsurface wetland paired with a conventional sewer system, managed by the county.
  • A cost-shared lagoon system, where one village operates the facility while both maintain separate sewer systems.

Ideal for community and utility leaders, operators, and technical assistance providers, this session offers practical insights into adaptable, cost-effective wastewater strategies. This webinar is funded under RCAP’s EPA NPA 2 23 – 25 grant.
