This session will describe experiences and best practices for providing technical assistance to communities where English is primarily a second language. Trust is built more easily between technical assistance providers and clients when there is acknowledgment, acceptance, and effort to work with a community’s local language. Presenters will provide insight on determining when translation is necessary or preferred and speak to lessons learned as they navigate the language barrier.
