Rural Community Assistance Partnership Incorporated to Receive $14.6 Million from EPA to Expand Technical Assistance for Small and Rural Water Systems
Funding will support the organization’s mission to deliver critical water services and workforce training in underserved communities nationwide
Washington, D.C. (May 28, 2025) – The Rural Community Assistance Partnership Incorporated (RCAP) has been selected by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to receive $14.6 million as part of a $30 million initiative to improve technical assistance for small and rural drinking water and wastewater systems. RCAP is one of three national organizations receiving funding under this initiative.
The funding will allow RCAP to provide targeted, on-the-ground assistance to small and rural systems across the country.
“We are honored to collaborate with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to advance initiatives that support rural and tribal communities nationwide,” said RCAP CEO Olga Morales-Pate. “As a recognized national leader in rural water technical assistance, RCAP is uniquely positioned to deliver tailored support to small utilities and private well owners. We commend the EPA’s continued dedication to enhancing the quality of life in rural communities across America.”
RCAP will use the funding to deliver hands-on, customized assistance, including help navigating complex funding programs, meeting regulatory standards, training water operators and strengthening emergency preparedness. The funding will also bolster efforts to build a skilled water workforce in underserved regions.
