RCAP Supports Bipartisan REACH Our Tribes Act

Rep. Derek Kilmer (D-WA 06) and Rep. Nick Langworthy (R-NY 23) introduced the REACH Our Tribes Act, a bipartisan bill aimed at improving the efficiency of USDA programs that serve Tribal communities. A key provision of the bill is the formalizing on the Tribal consultation process during USDA’s budget planning, ensuring more collaboration and equity in decisions over allocations and reauthorizations.

RCAP CEO Olga Morales Pate voiced strong support for the bill, saying, “The REACH Our Tribes Act will lessen the burden on tribes when applying for funding and ensure that technical assistance resources are spread more robustly to tribes. RCAP’s technical assistance providers have deep experience gained over 50 years doing what this bill envisions, namely helping tribal communities manage their financial strategies, assisting with applications for USDA Loan and Grant Programs.”
