RCAP Webinar | State Revolving Funds (SRF) and Disaster Funding
Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida first on the barrier Islands of Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach, both of which were submerged in the storm surge. This training will describe some of the complexities of finding funding for high income communities that are catastrophically impacted by disaster, using the case study of Sanibel Island. Funding opportunities to be discussed will include EPA’s disaster funding for water and wastewater utilities, which came through the SRF via the Supplemental Appropriation for Hurricanes Ian and Fiona, as well as CDBG funding. We will also compare the Sanibel example with examples of other communities that have received SAHFI funding. This webinar is funded under RCAP’s Environmental Finance Center (EFC) grant.
The speakers for this webinar are Jordan Woodall, Randy Welch, and Amanda Giorgio from the Southeast Rural Community Assistance Project (SERCAP).
