Webinar on June 30 on Biological and Microbial Aspects of Septic System Pollution

June 5, 2015 | General RCAP News

On June 30th from 2-3:00 p.m. Eastern, EPA will hold its sixth webinar in a monthly webinar series discussing challenges and treatment solutions for small drinking water and wastewater systems. EPA is committed to helping state and local personnel, as well as small system personnel, to deliver high quality drinking water to their customers by providing information, training, and technical assistance. Direct discharge of waste into receiving waters with minimal or no treatment can pose a serious health risk when an impacted water source is used for recreation, a drinking water reservoir, irrigation, or aquaculture applications. June's presenters will discuss molecular technologies to identify fecal pollution, provide an overview of current EPA research activities on fecal source identification, and discuss a project that illustrates how advanced wastewater treatment technologies can be used as a solution to wastewater treatment problems in difficult site conditions.
