Straight From The TAP – Patrick Walker

May 28, 2019 | Blog, General RCAP News

Pat Walker is the South Carolina State Manager with SERCAP, the Southeastern RCAP. Walker has been with SERCAP for the past seven years. In 2011, he retired from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control with 35 years of experience in various waste management programs, air quality permitting and compliance, mining and reclamation, and groundwater hydrogeology. After beginning work with SERCAP under a USDA Rural Development grant for solid waste management, he stayed on and has been with them for seven years.

“My favorite part of working with RCAP/SERCAP is seeing the smiles on the faces of rural community members and homeowners as we assist with addressing local or personal issues and problems,” said Walker. In many cases, communities have been seeking assistance for years with private wells, septic tanks, water/wastewater systems, etc. “When they hear the words ‘we will try to help’ they just become overjoyed.” He finds the pride people show in their community to be truly admirable. Thank you, Pat, for all of the hard work and dedication you’ve shown to improve quality of life, starting at the tap.
