Straight From the TAP – Josefa Torres-Olivo

Today’s #StraightFromTheTap honors Josefa Torres-Olivo. Torres-Olivo works as the District III Director for Puerto Rico and the U.S.Virgin Islands with RCAP Solutions, RCAP’s Northeastern partner. She has been with the organization for 23 dedicated years. Torres-Olivo’s history with RCAP began as a Water Resources Specialist I. She then moved up within the organization as a Water Resources Specialist II, WRS III and was also the PR State Lead. She has a vast knowledge of the network and how to help communities in any way possible. Her different positions have caused her to be passionate about her work and the technical assistance she continuously provides.

Under Torres-Olivo’s leadership, her team has been holding water and wastewater trainings in PR and recently held their first training in USVI. Torres-Olivo enjoys working within the large team that is the RCAP network. She has been able to serve people and rural communities with limited resources and use her experience and knowledge at all steps throughout her career. She is a former recipient of the Bill French Award in 2014 and the RCAP Hall of Fame Award in 2018. As a leader in her field, we are lucky to have Josefa Torres-Olivo in our network.
