Obama, Romney speak about rural America

As the presidential campaign reaches its climax heading toward Nov. 6, both major party candidates are out on the trail courting all types of voters and gathering as many supporters as they can get - both urban and rural.

In the last week or so, the campaigns have produced the resources below, which provide their views on rural America. While all of these resources focus heavily on agriculture, there is an occasional mention of infrastructure.

NPR: Poll Shows Rural Battlegrounds Backing Romney

National news outlets, including NPR, reported Sept. 24 on the results of a poll showing the majority of rural areas are supporting Mitt Romney for president.

The NPR story, which aired on Sept. 24, begins:

"The nation's smallest and most remote places are providing Mitt Romney's biggest margins in battleground states as the 2012 presidential race enters its final weeks.
