Today is World Water Day!

Today is World Water Day, a day to mark the importance of water in our lives. To RCAP, however, every day is a day to be concerned about water, and our mission is to assist small, rural communities in particular and to ensure that they have a clean, safe and affordable supply for their residents.

Politico: U.S. on the verge of water anarchy (opinion)

An Oct. 16 editorial in Politico speaks about the Supreme Court's imminent decision whether or not to review a 10th Circuit case that essentially invalidates the interstate compact allocating the water of the Red River to the various states through which it flows. The case has potentially huge ramifications for the availability of water in states that signed other interstate compacts divvying up river water rights, especially the Colorado.

US, Mexico sign agreement addressing high-priority border environmental issues

WASHINGTON – U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa P. Jackson joined Mexico’s Secretary for the Environment and Natural Resources Juan Elvira Quesada to sign on Aug. 8 the Border 2020 U.S.-Mexico Environmental program agreement.
