A new tool from WaterSense, a program of the EPA and its various partners, is a section on its website that helps you have a better understanding of your water bill. It offers a breakdown of some of the most common billing structures, descriptions of units used, and usage trends to make it easier to understand.

Use it to check out last month's bill so you know exactly what you're paying for.

Ask your Representative to support HR 1632: The Building Rural Communities Act

Last week, Rep. Steve Southerland II (R-Fla.) introduced HR 1632: The Building Rural Communities Act (BRCA). The bill is cosponsored by Reps. Mike McIntyre (D-N.C.), William Enyart (D-Ill.), Don Young (R-Alaska), Vicky Hartzler (R-Mo.), Phil Roe (R-Tenn.), Steve Stockman (R-Texas), Reid Ribble (R-Wisc.), and Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.).

On April 8, Southerland used an RCAP community in Florida as the setting to announce his intentions to introduce the bill.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) introduced the Water Protection and Reinvestment Act of 2012 (HR 6249) on Aug. 1, a bill that will provide a deficit-neutral, consistent, and protected source of revenue to help states replace, repair, and rehabilitate critical wastewater treatment facilities.
