RCAP signs onto coalition letter sent to Congress on Farm Bill

The Coalition for a Renewed Rural Development, of which RCAP is a member, sent a letter on Aug. 30 to leaders of committees in Congress who are working on the Farm Bill.

The letter urged passage of the Farm Bill and inclusion of key rural development policy changes and funding that will be lost in any extension. 44 organizations signed onto the letter.

The letter reads in part:

RCAP Executive Director Robert Stewart testified April 25 before the House Rural Development, Research, Biotechnology, and Foreign Agriculture Subcommittee of the Agriculture Committee. The subcommittee hosted the first in a series of hearings on the upcoming Farm Bill reauthorization. There were two panels focusing on the programs in the Rural Development Title.

RCAP among organizations asking Congress to pass Farm Bill in 2012

As part of the Campaign for a Renewed Rural Development, RCAP was among those organizations that sent the letter below to members of Congress, asking them to pass the Farm Bill in 2012.
