EPA releases state enforcement performance information and comparative maps

Agency to host webinar demonstrating new data features

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced the release of state dashboards and comparative maps that provide the public with information about the performance of state and EPA enforcement and compliance programs across the country.

Updated data now available through EPA's Nitrogen and Phosphorus Pollution Data Access Tool

EPA has added updated data in the Nitrogen and Phosphorus Pollution Data Access Tool (NPDAT), a tool intended to help states develop effective nitrogen and phosphorus source-reduction strategies. Specifically, the updates include the Facilities Likely to Discharge Nitrogen/Phosphorus (N/P) to Water data layer, which now provides information on nitrogen and phosphorus discharges from 2010 facility monitoring reports with corresponding nitrogen and phosphorus limits from EPA's Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) Pollutant Loading Tool.

EPA Watershed Academy webcast on "Using the New Water Quality Portal"

On October 23, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. ET, EPA's Watershed Academy will host a webinar for water-quality managers and others to learn about the new Water-Quality Portal for water-quality data The portal brings together chemical, physical and microbiological data from EPA's Storage and Retrieval Data Warehouse and USGS's National Water Information System for scientists, policy-makers, and the public in a single, user-friendly web interface, while reducing the burden of searching, compiling, and formatting water monitoring data for analysis.
