Video: "The Cycle of Insanity: The Real Story of Water"

Description by the video's producers:

"The Cycle of Insanity: The Real Story of Water" is a short [actually, about 20 min.], animated film [for adults - not children] made by a collaboration of creative and dedicated volunteers at the Surfrider Foundation. Several local Surfrider Foundation chapters combined their talents and funds to create the film -- and then actor Zuleikha Robinson of Lost generously agreed to narrate it.

EPA has drafted Principles for an Energy Water Future.  EPA encourages all stakeholders – including government, utilities, private companies and ratepayers – to consider these principles and incorporate them into their work.

On Thursday, May 17, 2012, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST, EPA will host a webinar on innovative energy-conservation measures at wastewater treatment facilities. Improving energy efficiency is an ongoing challenge for water-sector utilities. While energy costs often represent 25 to 30 percent of a plant's total operation and maintenance costs, they also represent the largest controllable cost of providing water and wastewater services.
