The Water We Drink: Small Community Outreach Campaign

The campaign provides information about maintaining safe, sustainable, and secure water supplies in small and rural communities. This outreach campaign is a joint effort by the Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP) and the National Environmental Services Center (NESC) to provide information and increase awareness about crucial water issues, especially for rural and small community decision-makers and water and wastewater board members.

The information the campaign provides:

• Articles for publications: Available free to download for educational and nonprofit use, such as reprinting in your newsletter or magazine, distributing via email or Internet, or using in training, meetings, or presentations.
• Educational resources: Addressing the topic of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in our waterways. These resources include a brochure, fact sheets, a PowerPoint presentation and instructor's guide, a reference article, and federal guidelines for properly disposing of prescription drugs. They are designed for small-community leaders and decision-makers, water and wastewater board members, and the general public, although many other audiences will find the information useful. All items may be downloaded and used for non-profit educational purposes.

The campaign is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Community Services (DHHS/OCS).
