In the run-up to last year’s influenza season, marked by the outbreak of H1N1 flu, WaterISAC teamed up with the U.S. EPA, CDC, and DHS to provide subscribers with vital information about epidemiology, vaccination protocols, and continuity planning. Over 200 of your colleagues attended this important and timely webinar.
As we prepare for the 2010 flu season, WaterISAC will once again partner with colleagues across the water sector to host a pandemic influenza planning and preparedness webinar that will focus on lessons learned from last year’s outbreak.
This webinar, to be held Wednesday, September 29 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time, is designed specifically for water and wastewater utility personnel who are faced with challenges posed by the threat of a pandemic.
Participants will hear from an array of water sector partners including the San Jose Water Company, the California Department of Public Health (CA DPH), the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and U.S. EPA. The following perspectives will be offered:
- Update on pandemic influenza from the healthcare perspective;
- State planning and preparedness efforts in partnership with utilities; and
- Utility lessons learned from planning and preparing for pandemic influenza.
The webinar will include a Q&A session and will also introduce participants to helpful resources on WaterISAC to enhance their planning and preparedness activities for pandemic flu and other incidents.
