Developing an annual budget

It’s a task NO ONE is looking forward to this year, what with a yo-yoing stock market, government bailouts and debts, federal and state spending cuts, and skyrocketing energy and manufacturing prices.
But the time has come – time to finalize those 2009 budgets.
While the woes of Wall Street may not seem to matter to Small Town USA, the fact is that economic sputters trickle down to everyone, including rural communities.

Check Up Program for Small Systems (CUPSS) Train-the-Trainer Webinar Series

This 6-hour presentation will consist of comprehensive training on how to use the CUPSS asset-management software. It will closely follow the CUPSS Users Guide; an overview of each module (with screenshots) followed by exercises on how to use the module. To participate in this training, users will be asked to log in from their own computer. Users can begin their asset-management process through this training, or they can follow the presenter's hypothetical scenario. The EPA sponsored web-based conference delivery will be separated into three 2-hour sessions.

Adaptation Strategies Guide for Water Utilities

The Adaptation Strategies Guide for Water Utilities was developed under EPA’s Climate Ready Water Utilities initiative to assist drinking water and wastewater utilities in gaining a better understanding of what climate change-related impacts they may face in their region and what adaptation strategies can be used to prepare their system for those impacts.  The guide contains easy-to-understand climate science and information, utility adaptation case studies, as well as an adaptation planning worksheet.

Climate-change adaptation strategies guide for water utilities

The Adaptation Strategies Guide for Water Utilities is now available on EPA’s website. EPA Safe and Sustainable Water Resources Research Program stakeholder meeting

EPA's Safe and Sustainable Water Resources Research Program will hold a public stakeholder meeting on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, from 9 a.m. to noon in the EPA East Hearing Room (Room 1153).  Jennifer Orme-Zavaleta, interim National Program Director, will share the details of the new water research program, including research tasks and high-priority products to be delivered.  Senior representatives will be in attendance to address questions concerning National Water Program research priorities.
